E-Mail - what’s your best efficiency tip or technique?
E-Mail is one of the best or worst tools that’s come along in recent years (depending on who you ask, or what day it is)… and I’ve noticed that everyone has one great technique that they love to use, or one great tip that has been invaluable to them. My previous post talks about emptying spam folders (with the intent of finding the mis-filed, non-spam emails easily). I have other techniques that I love to use to save me time and effort; however, I’d love to garner some new tips. What’s your best tip or technique? Please share - the more the merrier! - and one lucky poster will receive a small gift for doing so.

Keep the inbox as lightweight as possible. Like receiving snail mail, go through it a couple of times a day and… reply, file, or delete right there. Don’t let it pile up.

Do not use your inbox as your to-do list. If an incoming email creates a to-do for you, put it on your to-do list and then file or delete the email.

Wow - thanks for these. I, um, won’t say that I DO these things (or did ’til I read your posts), but let’s just say that I’m a bit more streamlined now than I was before!
